In our defense: Bastian was born there (and is an American citizen) and Finn, well he was 'made' there. Greenville was our home and the place where we started our family.
Now that all our stuff is unpacked and Summer is really over, it hit us: we are no longer living in the States...
Just watching an episode of One Tree Hill (yes, there is still a teenager hidden inside of me) which is set in North Carolina, and some of its scenery made me 'homesick'...
We miss Greenville (the parks, the falls, ...), we miss Barnes & Noble where you can have a coffee while looking for your next book, we miss the smoothies from Panera Bread, we miss stores that are open in the evening and on Sundays, we miss all the sales (especially on children's clothing), we miss turning right on red, we miss The Lazy Goat & the Melting Pot & Smoke on the Water,we miss our trips to Charleston and Savannah, we miss going hiking in the mountains, we miss people saying 'Hi, how are you doing', we miss Curious George, we miss the library, we miss indoor bounce houses, we miss The Little Gym, ...
We also miss the sport culture; especially the NBA and football. Luckily we had an option to have ESPN America so we have been able to watch Clemson beat Auburn. We were ready, but let's be honest: it's not the same as actually being at the game...
And last but not least: we miss you!!! We miss hanging out, we miss play dates and birthday/Halloween/... parties, mom's/couples'.night out, ... I am bummed that I have to miss all those growing bellies and babies being born...
So just to let you all know: please drop by if you are ever in the neighborhood, you are always welcome!
Besides missing the US from time to time, we are also having a great time here in France. We've got a great house with a nice garden for the kids to play in. Granted, France is a whole lot different that Belgium or the US but Cernay already starts to feel like home.

MAUD! We miss you TOO! We miss hanging out, play dates, library and park too. We do that here too, but alone... and it's not the same.
Don't be too bummed about the NBA... you know they're on a lock down and might not be playing this season? It's unheard of! Now that we're in Miami, we wont be able to go to a game and see Bron Bron in action! ARG!
Miss you, my friend. Keep posting pics of your angels. Always thinking of you!
